Summary of Position
The Runner is responsible for removing used plates and tableware between courses, clearing
ashtrays, and resetting tables after guests leave. They also serve drinks and food to guests
promptly and efficiently, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
Service Area Assignment
• Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
Table Setup
• Set up tables as per the required standards.
Dishwashing Preparation
• Place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc., in appropriate areas for washing.
Assist Waiter with Food Delivery
• Assist the waiter with food delivery, especially for large parties and during peak
periods.
Polishing Tableware
• Responsible for polishing silverware, glassware, and plates.
Maintain Side Stations & Condiments
• Ensure side stations and condiments are well-maintained and stocked.
Operational Support
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations,
as directed by the operations manager or immediate supervisor.
Additional Tasks
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
Beverage Delivery
Deliver beverages from the bar to the waiter section (do not serve directly to the table).
Opening & Closing Duties
• Perform opening and closing duties as required.

• Guests’ complaints are promptly reported and reduced over time.
• Work station is consistently clean.
• Required administrative tasks are reported in a timely manner.
Qualifications
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the
restaurant trading area.
• Must have the stamina to work hours as per the restaurant’s roster schedule, based on
operational needs.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 20kg.
